Summary:
Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production supervisors as well as direct team members, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for effective and efficient operator of the assigned work area.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of operations.
- Foster a culture of encouragement and motivation that is conducive to helping production team members succeed in their role.
- Providing all necessary supplies for the assigned area.
- Enforce all applicable regional and local policies and procedures.
- Encourage and support problem-solving activities.
- Maintain exceptional 5S in assigned area.
- Achieve production attainment and efficiency in assigned area.
- Facilitate, document, and track process training in assigned area.
- Control cost of processes in assigned area.
- Directly oversee direct and direct non-standard employees in the department.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 5-7yrs prior relevant experience
Working Conditions:
- Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift/move up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work 40 – 60hrs per week (including weekends/holidays). On-call availability 7 days per week.
- Up to 10% domestic and international may be required as needed.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
