AIS is hiring a skilled Application Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data integration pipelines that connect Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform with internal and external systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, secure, and performant data migration and integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data integration and migration pipelines between Dataverse/Power Platform and disparate source and target systems (on-premises, cloud, and SaaS)
- Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Power Apps/Power Platform Dataflows
- Develop and support integration flows using Power Automate, including scheduled, triggered, and event-driven workflows
- Design, consume, and expose REST APIs and web services to enable bi-directional data exchange between Dataverse and external systems
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the On-Premises Data Gateway to enable secure connectivity between cloud services and on-premises data sources
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and transformation activities to ensure data quality and integrity throughout migration and integration processes
- Develop and maintain error handling, logging, alerting, and monitoring for all integration pipelines to ensure reliability and rapid issue resolution
- Collaborate with solution architects, functional consultants, and business stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Document data flows, integration architecture, mapping specifications, and operational runbooks
- Participate in data migration planning and execution for new Dataverse implementations, including extraction, transformation, validation, and load activities
- Optimize integration performance, including throughput, latency, and API/service protection limits within Dataverse and connected systems
- Support testing efforts including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing for data migration and integration solutions
- Apply security and compliance best practices for data in transit and at rest, including credential/secrets management and role-based access control
- Provide production support and troubleshooting for integration failures, data discrepancies, and performance issues
- Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure integration service updates and recommend improvements to existing solutions
Required For This Opportunity
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data migration, or systems integration roles
- Demonstrated experience integrating and migrating data into/out of Microsoft Dataverse and Power Platform
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate for building integration and orchestration workflows
- Hands-on experience with Power Apps/Platform Dataflows
- Hands-on ETL experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Hands-on experience with pipeline orchestration/data movement in Azure Data Factory
- Experience designing, consuming, and troubleshooting REST APIs for system-to-system integration
- Experience configuring and maintaining the On-Premises Data Gateway
- Strong proficiency in SQL (query optimization, relational database design)
- Solid understanding of Dataverse data model, entity relationships, and Power Platform security model (business units, security roles, teams)
- Experience with data mapping, transformation logic, and data quality validation techniques
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, Azure AD/Entra ID app registrations, service principals)
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose complex data/integration issues
Nice to Have Skills
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, DP-600, DP-203, or AZ-204
- Azure Logic Apps and/or Azure Functions for custom integration logic experience
- Dataverse virtual tables/entities and virtual connectors experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse short-term retention, or Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse
- Experience with source control and CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD)
- Knowledge of message-based/event-driven integration patterns (Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, webhooks)
- Experience with API management platforms
- Familiarity with data governance, master data management, and data retention/archival practices
- Experience in integrating Power Platform with ERP or CRM systems
- Working knowledge of C#/.NET or PowerShell for custom connectors, plug-ins, or automation scripting
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for Power Platform solutions (managed/unmanaged solutions, environment strategy)
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Application Insights, Azure Monitor)
