Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
This role works in a production area processing poultry products and is responsible for operating the chiller, monitoring equipment settings, and supporting safe, efficient production. The position may require working with live poultry, raw product, and/or cooked product in areas such as live hang, evisceration, debone, cut up, marinating, stack off, Polybag, Retail, Warehouse, and other production assignments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the chiller and support production needs within assigned poultry processing area.
Monitor and control temperature, pressure, and other equipment settings on the chiller.
Adhere to all safety requirements, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Prevent and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and potential hazards.
Follow Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management requirements related to the role.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Participate in Company and department safety programs.

Qualifications
Related production, manufacturing, food processing, or equipment operation experience preferred.
Good mathematics, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow safety, quality, and production requirements.
Ability to work all assigned shifts, including overtime and some weekends.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
New team members must be able to pass a drug and alcohol post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. Must be authorized to work in the United States. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
When working in the plant environment, exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces. The role may be exposed to temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient conditions and 100% humidity. Team members may handle product ranging from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit and may be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db, dust, feathers, and chemicals used in a poultry food processing facility. The role requires performing a variety of physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for long periods of time, walking, and lifting and carrying boxes, tools, equipment, and materials. Appropriate PPE is required.
