STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Construction Management Intern to join our team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.
In this role, you will work with senior and junior designers to assist in completing project construction documents for various projects. The group provides design services to both public agencies and other larger design projects; major projects typically include commercial, aviation, federal, and more.
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily, on-site oversight of construction activities and document project progress.
Conduct on-site observations of contractor work and identify potential quality issues, deficiencies, or deviations from project plans and specifications.
Observe and document the quality and quantity of work performed by the contractor and the contractor’s QC/QA inspection staff.
Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, quality requirements, and applicable safety procedures.
Review plans and specifications to develop an understanding of project requirements and identify potential construction issues prior to and during construction.
Assist in determining the need for changes or additional work based on field conditions and observed construction activities.
Coordinate with contractors to understand and track the schedule of work and upcoming construction activities.
Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, project documentation, plans, and other construction records.
Attend weekly project meetings and assist with documenting project updates, action items, and outstanding issues.
Support the STV project team with field documentation, project coordination, and other construction management activities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction, project management, or similar program.
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internship or relevant experience in construction management or a related field.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
Basic knowledge of scheduling software.
Basic understanding of budgeting and cost control principles.
Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.

Compensation Range:
