Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits D&A Team Lead to join our growing team in Portland, OR.
Team Leaders are individuals whose primary responsibility is the supervision of no less than two full-time teammates and the overall direction and management of a functional area, department, or other designated group. Working in conjunction with the Employee Benefits Leader, the Data & Analytics (D&A) Lead will set the goals and direction for the team each year. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring D&A teammates maintain effective information management between the Account Manager, Producer/Consultant, and carrier through all applicable means of communication, which includes providing a documented summary of all meetings. The Team Lead will also be a liaison to the Tech team, Account Managers and Producers for issues related to renewals and marketing projects for existing clients and prospects.
How You Will Contribute:
Leads financial consulting for assigned book of business and department; independently evaluates financial and utilization metrics for customer
Coach, train, and develop teammates
Supervise the day-to-day performance, workload, and address team attendance issues for D&A team
Provide feedback to D&A teammates and foster growth through measurable goals
Manage customer assignments to D&A team
Leverage market, coverage, and financial expertise to negotiate renewals, recommend the most appropriate insurance solutions, alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities, and expand assigned book of business.
Oversee financial reports and client deliverables from D&A teammates and lead training efforts for these reports and deliverables as needed.
Participate in client and prospective client meetings to represent the financial strategy and role expectations of the financial consulting service, including independently performing reporting and analysis in preparation for meetings.
Establish, cultivate, and manage professional relationships with carrier partners, and internal resources throughout the organization.
Occasional, local travel to visit customers or prospects may be requested.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must have, and maintain, current Life & Health Insurance License for required states
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) with three (3) year experience in the field of Employee Benefits Administration or high school graduate with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, other combination of work and/or education will be considered
Solid knowledge and understanding of group health and welfare benefit plan coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and other regulations. Insurance plans, underwriting principals, selection, pricing, rating, and premium calculation
Fluent with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel
Skills to learn agency management websites at an accelerated ability
Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
