We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our growing
Engineering team, based in Cádiz, Spain. This team is expanding to lead new product development in industrial safety electronics, with a focus on ground fault / residual current monitoring and insulation monitoring. Reporting to the regional Engineering leader, this role is first and foremost a people-management role: you will lead and develop a small, mixed-seniority team of engineers, while also owning the technical project management needed to deliver electronic product design, development, prototyping, and validation. The individual will be accountable for establishing and driving engineering plans that meet core project KPIs, while developing team capability and performance as the team grows.
The Engineering Manager will play a critical role in our growing regional presence, serving as a technical and organizational leader for the local team while collaborating closely with global engineering, product management, and operations.
About the Job
Lead, coach and develop a small, mixed-seniority team of approximately 4-5 engineers, owning their day-to-day priorities, development and performance
Provide technical and organizational leadership to the engineering team, acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for technical discussions and challenges
Apply sound engineering judgment to help the team resolve technical and organizational roadblocks
Manage engineering project schedules, resources and priorities, ensuring activities remain on track and aligned with business needs
Partner with Product Management to prioritize engineering activities against business and market requirements
Collaborate closely with global Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Operations teams to ensure high-quality and timely delivery
Support new product development and ensure appropriate safety, quality and regulatory requirements are considered throughout the development process
Promote a Design for Excellence (DFx) mindset and continuous improvement within the engineering organization
Support the team in navigating technical challenges related to industrial electronic products and electrical safety applications
Help ensure engineering activities are delivered within agreed timelines and scope
Contribute to the growth and development of the local engineering organization as the team expands
Travel occasionally within Europe and internationally as required
About You
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Previous experience leading or managing an engineering or technical team
Strong understanding of electrical and/or electronic engineering, with the ability to understand technical challenges and engage effectively with engineers
Experience working in an engineering environment, preferably within industrial electronics, electrical products or a related technical field
Ability to provide technical guidance and support without necessarily being directly responsible for hands-on product design
Strong people leadership, coaching and team-development skills
Experience managing engineering projects, priorities, resources and deliverables
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Comfortable working across multiple functional groups and within a global organization
Fluent English and Spanish, both written and verbal
Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience managing engineering teams within electronic product design, industrial electronics or a related field
Experience with industrial electrical safety products or electrical monitoring applications
Experience working with IEC, UL or comparable regulatory and safety standards
Familiarity with product development, engineering validation and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with Design for Excellence (DFx) principles
Experience with project management tools and methodologies
Experience collaborating with global engineering and cross-functional teams
