Job Description Summary
The Executive Director, Alliances is responsible for managing all aspects of the Partnership location, including providing management direction for leadership staff, rehabilitation nursing staff, and allied health staff assigned to the rehabilitation program, in partnership with the Medical Director. The Executive Director is an employee of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and works with the Medical Director as a self-managed leadership team. The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President, Operations, and is accountable to designated administrative and executive representatives of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and the Partnership. The Executive Director is also accountable to the Oversight/Governing Committee of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Partnership.The Executive Director works collaboratively with appropriate members of the Partnership and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab affiliate management teams to ensure that Program services are coordinated and integrated with other affiliate services.
Job Description
The Executive Director, Alliances will:
Together with the Medical Director, oversee all activities of the Rehabilitation Program.
Lead program development for acute medical/surgical, inpatient acute, long-term acute care, outpatient, and future services of the Partnership.
Develop budgets and conduct variance analysis.
Manage financial and material resources within the approved budget.
Build effective teams and strong working relationships with colleagues, staff, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the Partner, and Partnership stakeholders.
Ensure Program compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Monitor and analyze financial operations and develop proactive strategies to support strong financial performance.
Develop, implement, and manage referral promotion and marketing plans for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab services at the Partnership.
Provide leadership for the relationship with Alliance Health System and collaborate effectively across the Partnership.
Select and manage key staff across service lines, levels of care, programs, and sites of care.
Identify appropriate skill mix and staffing plans across service lines, programs, and sites of care.
Educate allied health staff.
Oversee staff development and performance evaluation.
Perform other duties as assigned in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
The Executive Director will work in concert with the Medical Director to design, implement, and operate the following:
A high-quality, cost-efficient Program.
Standards of quality and budgetary performance consistent with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Partnership standards.
A Program that is responsive to the needs of the community and payers.
Staffing levels/ratios consistent with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Partnership standards of care and operational expectations.
Liaison and communication functions within each service line and across the continuum of rehabilitation care.
Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Partnership organizational collaboration and integration.
Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Vice President, Operations and to the Partnership Executive Designee.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Bachelor’s Degree and MBA, MHA, MM or related degree;
Five to seven years of healthcare administrative or program management responsibilities;
Analytical ability to design, implement and operate a continuum of rehabilitation services that spans multiple levels of care and various geographies;
Experience in rehabilitation service delivery in an academic hospital setting is preferred;
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary in order to interface effectively with all constituency groups and colleagues.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
This position will be located on the East Coast
Pay and Benefits*:
Pay Range: $147,.000 - $273,000 annually
