Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the review and data entry of fixed asset transactions related to additions, transfers, and disposals for each La-Z-Boy division. Additionally, this role performs the monthly fixed asset processing within the general ledger accounting system. The position interacts with operational and F&A leaders across the enterprise to obtain sufficient documentation to support fixed asset transactions and supports the overall Corporate Accounting month-end close.Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Review fixed asset additions, transfers, and disposals for accuracy prior to being submitted for review and approval
- Initiate/enter fixed asset transactions in the general ledger system
- Ensure fixed asset documentation is complete and in accordance with policies and controls
- Assist various divisions with fixed asset issues or questions, which may involve preliminary research and analysis related to fixed asset invoices, records, and transactions
- Maintain, update, and enforce fixed asset accounting policy across entire enterprise
- Work with IT to resolve any technical issues within the fixed asset module of the general ledger system
- Perform monthly fixed asset processing and support fixed asset reconciliation process
- Support month-end close with explanations pertaining to changes in fixed asset account balances across all divisions
- Participate in projects, which may include, identifying and implementing standardized processes and improvements
- Create and update department procedures
SCOPE & IMPACT:
This position is part of the Corporate Accounting department and is responsible for reviewing support and entering approximately 100 fixed asset transactions per month as well as performing the monthly fixed asset processing. This position will work directly with the different divisions to ensure that all transactions are properly supported in accordance with our internal policy and US GAAP.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and deadline driven
- Data entry skills with high level of accuracy
- Up to 5% Travel.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and Planful
