Job Title:
Lab Technician – Beauty & Personal Care (SEA&ANZ)Summary:
The Lab Technician will provide technical laboratory support for the Beauty & Personal Care (BPC) business by preparing prototype formulations, conducting product testing and evaluation, and supporting daily laboratory operations. The role will help ensure effective laboratory activities and reliable technical support for application development projects.Responsibilities Include:
- Execute the preparation of personal care prototype formulations in accordance with established formulation guidelines and project requirements.
- Conduct laboratory testing and product evaluations to assess prototype quality, performance, and relevant product characteristics.
- Prepare samples and prototypes for internal evaluation, product demonstrations, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and other business activities.
- Accurately record formulation details, test results, observations, and other relevant laboratory data.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring the laboratory is adequately maintained and ready to support formulation and testing activities.
- Maintain accurate chemical, raw material, and laboratory supply inventories, including monitoring quantities, batch information, storage locations, and expiry dates.
- Coordinate routine laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair activities to ensure equipment is available and fit for use.
- Coordinate the disposal of expired chemicals and laboratory waste in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
- Complete and maintain required laboratory records, documents, and other supporting information to ensure appropriate traceability and compliance.
- Coordinating with relevant internal teams and local vendors when required.
- Maintain and promote a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with applicable safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality standards.
- Follow established procedures for chemical handling, storage, labeling, equipment use, testing activities, and laboratory waste disposal.
- Prepare technical marketing support materials, including formulation content, social media content, video presentations, and other application-related materials when required.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in laboratory work, formulation development, product testing, analytical testing, or a related technical environment.
- Experience in chemical laboratory work, laboratory inventory management, and laboratory equipment operation.
- Experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation and testing is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple laboratory activities simultaneously.
Skills
- Good knowledge of basic chemistry and laboratory practices.
- Practical understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and laboratory documentation.
- Ability to accurately record, organize, and summarize laboratory data.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Good written English and reading comprehension, with conversational-level English speaking skills.
Good attention to detail and ability to work systematically in a laboratory environment.
