The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical systems within the facility. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Mechanic will uphold regulatory compliance, safety standards, and best practices while supporting production goals and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow IMS guidelines, safety protocols, and mandatory procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard the environment and personnel.

  • Perform routine service, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, and plant infrastructure.

  • Conduct minor periodic maintenance and repairs on plant instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure operational reliability.

  • Apply advanced mechanical and precision maintenance techniques to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install equipment, including rotating and reciprocating machinery.

  • Respond to emergency call-ins to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment issues promptly.

  • Safely operate forklifts, hand tools, power tools, and test equipment for maintenance tasks.

  • Perform non-code welding and fabricate special parts as required to support plant operations.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and other specifications to execute maintenance tasks effectively.

  • Keep work areas organized and maintain inventory of spare parts and materials.

  • Work effectively in teams, acquire technical skills, and develop knowledge of production processes and policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or a related field (preferred).

  • Strong mechanical skills, including knowledge of rotating and reciprocating equipment.

  • Able to use a multi-meter.

  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation, electrical systems, and non-code welding.

  • Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills (SAP preferred).

  • Ability to work overtime and participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays.

  • 3+ years as a Maintenance Mechanic in a chemical plant or refinery or industrial settings (3-5 years preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with precision maintenance techniques and emergency repairs.
