The Manager, Project Management, leads a team of Project Managers within the Mods and Upgrades, LSS Business Unit. This role is responsible for delivering complex, multi-site automation, modernization, and upgrade projects across assigned customer portfolios and solution types. The Manager ensures projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and customer expectations while achieving predictable financial outcomes.

As a people leader, this position manages and develops project management team members assigned to customer and solution-specific portfolios. The Manager provides day-to-day direction, governance, coaching, escalation support, and operating cadence across a portfolio of concurrent projects. The Manager acts as a key interface between customers, internal engineering and delivery teams, installation, Procurement, Manufacturing, Controlling and other functional leadership.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop project management team members, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear expectations, manage performance, strengthen leadership capability, and support succession and career development for team members.

Project & Program Execution

  • Provide oversight for a portfolio of concurrent modernization and upgrade projects of varying scope and complexity, including controls, software, mechanical, electrical, installation, system upgrade, and capacity expansion workstreams.
  • Ensure effective transition from Sales to Operations, including pre-contract support, estimating input, and leadership of project kickoff processes.
  • Drive the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, including implementation, testing, acceptance, cutover, and go-live strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for complex project, customer, financial, or technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ensure alignment and coordination across project management, software, controls, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, installation, vendors, subcontractors, and integrator partners supporting project delivery.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Own financial performance across the assigned project portfolio, including forecasting, revenue recognition, cost-to-complete, invoicing, cash flow, and profitability analysis.
  • Establish and monitor project milestones, billable deliverables, and invoicing schedules.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive issue management and governance.
  • Ensure accurate project closeout and turnover to service and support organizations.

Customer & Business Engagement

  • Serve as a customer interface, building trusted relationships and ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Support identification of follow-on business opportunities in collaboration with sales and lifecycle services teams.
  • Represent Project Management in strategic planning, operational reviews, customer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Advanced project and program management skills, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Experience Desired

  • 5+ years of successful experience leading projects or project function, preferably in automation, logistics, manufacturing, lifecycle services, or large customer-dedicated portfolio environments.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale project portfolios, and significant customer-facing revenue responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems, controls architectures, and systems integration; solid working knowledge of industrial and enterprise software systems.
  • Experience with schedule and change management, demonstrated leadership in safety excellence, permit and installation processes, material supply chains, contract administration, subcontractor management, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office; Microsoft Project or equivalent required.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.

Additional Job Description
