This position is responsible for oil and gas well operations during the early stage of well production, also known as flowback. Non-scheduled call-outs outside normal business hours can be expected.  Job is to be performed employing safe work practices while utilizing approved procedures to maximize operational efficiency while minimizing costs on flowback. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all applicable company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
  • Gather hourly/daily production reading. Format report per DSU requirement.
  • Be able to analyze and interpret deviations in well test data and communicate to appropriate teams.
  • Perform flowback operation per SOP/ROP
  • Ability to quantify daily sand rates by gathering sand weight manually or from an automated system
  • Proficiency in performing energy isolation and completing Oxy required work authorization permits (JSA, LOTO, SWS, etc)
  • Basic troubleshooting of e-dump systems and automated manifolds
  • Willingness to work a 12hr rotating schedule; operate a company vehicle and drive to and from work site.
  • The ability to work in extreme weather condition where temps range from 10 – 120 deg F.
  • Physical ability to:
    • Perform equipment inspections several times per shift that requires walking full length and width of flow back rig up.
    • Swing a sledgehammer weighing 6-12 lbs to loosen and tighten 1502 unions on flowback equipment.  (iron sections, manifolds chokes, inline chokes, and e-dump skids)
    • Perform group lifts of 1502 iron that weighs up to 200 lbs and be able to clear sanded off dump lines
    • Dumping of SKO and be able to maneuver sand socks weighing up to 100 lbs with manual devices
    • Ability to climb stairs more than 4' off the ground or work out of a manlift in excess of 15'
    • Manual operation of different types of valves (plug, gate, ball, etc). Ability to open and close plug valves with 6,000 psi on the system on flow back equipment using designed valve bar.
    • Perform maintenance on flowback rig up (equipment greasing, manifold inspection, restraint/guarding systems)
    • Be able to manually operate a high-pressure grease gun to grease valves on manifolds, SKOs, and e-dump skids
    • Ability to operate hand jack on light plants to raise and lower lights
    • Ability to take samples from pressurized manifolds or sample ports that are below waist height

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Professional/Technical Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License

Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical principles
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer utilizing a MS Windows environment
  • General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision
  • Technical skills related to math and analytical processes
  • Strong initiative and self-starter
  • Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritization
  • Automation experience and hands on troubleshooting experience is preferred
