The Position
Senior Manager Business Development Operations & Projects H/FJob Summary
General mission(s) / purpose: The senior manager, BD operations & projects is responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination, process alignment, and management of business development projects within the division.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Business Development & New Business Platforms, the senior manager secures the execution of growth initiatives, maintains consistent KPIs and reporting processes, and coordinates product management and marketing efforts across IGC applications.
Key strategic and operational objectives include:
• Day-to-day product management & marketing coordination: Drive operational consistency and day-to-day coordination of product management & marketing across all IGC market applications
• Standardized KPI tracking & reporting consistency: Establish, harmonize, and monitor KPIs and reporting processes across all applications to ensure clear visibility and structured governance.
• Operational department coordination & continuity: Secure continuous progress of day-to-day department activities and workflows, serving as the coordinator to maintain operational BD continuity within IGC
• Strategy alignment & Group coordination:
Act as the primary interface to track and monitor the implementation of IGC development strategy, securing close coordination and alignment with Group Corporate Strategy, M&A, and any other relevant corporate functions.
• Growth initiatives & incubation support: Coordinate and support the operational incubation, development, and scaling of New Business Platforms (Cnano, Shanshan) during their critical transition phases.
Description of Significant Activities:
1. Day-to-day product management & marketing coordination
• Coordinate commercialization plans, product roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies across all applications.
• Act as the daily operational point of contact to ensure product and marketing managers meet project milestones and deliver on commercial objectives.
• Run regular progress reviews to align segment-specific marketing efforts with IGC overarching commercial strategy.
2. Standardized KPI tracking & reporting consistency
• Define, implement, and monitor a robust set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the performance of all applications.
• Standardize monthly and quarterly reporting templates and workflows to provide clear, granular, and actionable visibility into business development performance.
• Consolidate segment dashboards and project updates into unified executive reports for the Head of Department and other Management Team members..
3. Operational department coordination & continuity
• Facilitate overall department workflow, coordinate resources, and streamline communication between team members.
• Ensure operational continuity within the division, acting as the operational lead to align team activities
• Lead department-level operational meetings to address bottlenecks, reallocate tasks, and maintain momentum on key deliverables.
4. Strategy tracking & Group alignment
• Track and monitor the implementation of the division’s business development strategy, ensuring complete alignment with Corporate Planning cycles.
• Maintain close communication and collaborate regularly with Group Corporate Strategy, M&A, and other corporate teams to align on progress, milestone achievements, and strategic updates.
• Support the preparation of strategic reviews, monthly reviews, quarterly business reviews and division-level growth initiative reports submitted to the Management team or any other relevant supervisory board.
5. Growth initiatives & incubation support
• Provide operational support to new business platforms (e.g. Cnano, Shanshan) during their critical incubation and scaling-up phases.
• Coordinate cross-functional task forces (Sales, R&D, Operations, Finance) to ensure smooth integration of incubating platforms into standard business operations.
• Track CAPEX, milestone achievements, and ramp-up schedules for key incubation projects, flagging risks and executing mitigation plans.
Hierarchical / Animation Project(s) Responsibility:
• Reporting line: Reports directly to the Global Head of Business Development & New Business Platforms.
• Coordinated Profiles: Co-pilots and animates the daily activities within the department
• Nature of leadership: Operational facilitation, matrix project management, and daily task prioritization. Emphasizes high-influence, cross-functional leadership to drive results without direct hierarchical authority over all individual segment leads.
• Travel: 10% to 20% international travel required to support global teams, visit operational sites, and align with regional partners.
Specific professional knowledge:
Education & qualifications:
• Master’s degree from a top-tier Business or Engineering School (e.g., HEC, Polytechnique, Centrales, Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, or equivalent).
Professional experience:
• >12 years of professional experience in strategy, business development, product management, project management or commercial operations, preferably within a top-tier management consulting firm or a global B2B industrial company.
Skills & competencies:
• Business acumen & marketing: Broad understanding of product management, market segmentation, and industrial B2B commercialization.
• Analytical & financial rigor: Strong ability to build business cases, track KPIs, manage operational reporting, and structure dashboards.
• Matrix leadership & influence: Proven ability to coordinate and animate highly technical, diverse, and senior profiles in a matrix organization without direct hierarchical authority.
• Operational excellence: Action-oriented mindset focused on standardizing processes, removing project bottlenecks, and delivering results.
• Languages & intercultural skills: Full professional fluency in English is mandatory. Strong intercultural sensitivity and experience in managing diverse stakeholder groups.
