Job Summary

  • Design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems in accordance with Customer requirements, organizational methodologies, and standards. Respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas.

  • As a Software Engineer - Quality - MarTech / Content Supply Chain, you’ll help transform quality engineering across Southwest’s MarTech ecosystem by embedding intelligent automation, performance validation, and release confidence into customer-facing content experiences. You’ll build scalable quality practices across Adobe Experience Cloud, CMS/DAM, APIs, cloud services, content workflows, and digital channels.

    You’ll help establish a modern, shift-left test strategy that reduces repetitive manual validation, strengthens automated quality gates, and shortens feedback loops. You’ll partner with engineering, product, architecture, security, and platform teams to validate functional and nonfunctional requirements and enable safe, frequent releases at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge and skills of software development and testing effectively to solve a range of problems

  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

  • Collaborate closely with customers and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals

  • Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance

  • Determine and assess the needs of the user and then create software to meet the requirements

  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skills

  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software

  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming

  • Mentor junior members on the team

  • Improve and expand technical capabilities by continuing their education thru reading, workshops, conferences, and/or communities of practice

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

  • Build and evolve automated API, integration, end-to-end, regression, and UI test coverage across Adobe Experience Cloud, CMS/DAM, content workflows, and customer-facing digital experiences.

  • Validate microservices, APIs, Adobe workflows, CMS/DAM integrations, asset publishing, and AWS-hosted applications against functional and nonfunctional requirements.

  • Design performance, reliability, accessibility, and security validation strategies across AEM/CMS experiences, DAM workflows, Adobe integrations, APIs, and content-delivery channels.

  • Define test plans, acceptance criteria, defect triage practices, release evidence, and shift-left quality practices for Adobe-enabled content workflows.

  • Develop measurable quality gates that improve release confidence, prevent defects, and shorten feedback loops across engineering teams.

  • Manage representative content, asset metadata, campaign data, sandbox dependencies, traceability, and test data required for reliable validation across releases.

  • Drive defect lifecycle management and partner with engineering teams to identify root causes, prioritize issues, and verify remediation.

  • Contribute to quality dashboards, test-coverage measures, defect analytics, and production quality indicators that make quality outcomes visible to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, Security, and platform teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD and Agile delivery workflows.

  • Validate AWS Lambda and event-driven serverless workflows, including payloads, retries, failure handling, observability, and performance under load.

  • Promote shift-left quality engineering and continuous improvement across MarTech delivery teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of software development methodologies, practices, concepts, and technologies obtained through formal training and / or work experience

  • Ability to demonstrate consistent knowledge application, skills of software development, and testing to solve a range of problems

  • Intermediate knowledge of at least one required programming language

  • Ability to partner, communicate, and negotiate with various Technology or partner Teams

  • Ability to analyse and manage large, complex, and vague Business or technical problems, articulating the problem or root cause, and translating the analysis into viable solution recommendations

  • Ability to take on multiple assignments, whether administrative or project related, while maintaining a successful level of completion in all responsible work

  • Ability to mentor others to do the same

  • Ability to develop, present and effectively communicate ideas and strategies to a variety of audiences

  • Strong quality engineering and test automation expertise across API, integration, end-to-end, regression, and UI testing.

    Deep understanding of testing cloud-hosted applications, microservices, APIs, CMS/DAM integrations, asset publishing, and digital content workflows.

    Strong knowledge of performance, reliability, accessibility, and security testing practices and measurable quality gates.

    Ability to define practical test strategies, acceptance criteria, defect triage, release evidence, and shift-left quality practices.

    Experience managing test environments, representative content and asset data, campaign data, traceability, and defect lifecycles.

    Ability to work across interconnected Adobe, CMS, DAM, API, cloud, and content-delivery platforms and identify integration risks.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify failure modes, isolate defects, and communicate actionable findings.

    Strong collaboration skills across Agile engineering and product teams.

    Ability to use quality metrics and dashboards to improve test coverage, release confidence, and production outcomes.

Education

  • Required: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training

Experience

  • Required: Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in software engineering

  • 2-5 years of relevant work-related experience

  • Required: 3–5+ years of professional experience in quality engineering and test automation.

  • 3–5+ years designing automated API, integration, end-to-end, regression, and UI tests across Adobe Experience Cloud, CMS/DAM, content workflows, and customer-facing digital experiences.

  • 3–5+ years validating microservices, APIs, Adobe workflows, CMS/DAM integrations, asset publishing, and AWS-hosted applications.

  • 3–5+ years testing scalability, resilience, accessibility, and security across AEM/CMS experiences, DAM workflows, Adobe integrations, APIs, and content-delivery channels.

  • 3–5+ years defining test plans, acceptance criteria, defect triage, release evidence, and shift-left practices for Adobe-enabled content workflows.

  • 3–5+ years managing representative content, asset metadata, campaign data, sandbox dependencies, traceability, defect lifecycles, and quality metrics across releases.

Preferred Experience

  • ISTQB, AWS, accessibility, security-testing, or relevant automation-tool certification.

  • Experience testing Adobe AEM, DAM, CMS, MarTech workflows, or content-publishing platforms.

  • Familiarity with performance, security, accessibility, contract, chaos, or resilience-testing practices and tools.

  • Experience establishing quality dashboards, defect analytics, test-coverage measures, or production quality indicators.

  • Experience testing AWS Lambda and event-driven serverless workflows, including automated API and integration tests, payload validation, retries, failure handling, observability, and performance under load.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed

  • Ability to work onsite approximately 3 days per week and as required by the business.
