Job Description

RESPEC seeks a Student Engineering Intern (Civil, Geotechnical, or Geomatics/Survey) for our Summer Internship 2026 program in our Anchorage or Fairbanks Office. 

This hands-on position is within RESPEC’s Transportation Market Sector. This internship position will work alongside our firm’s full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to our interns to allow development of engineering skills and knowledge. Interns will get exposed to our clients, job sites, communities, as well as collaborate with our RESPEC multi-discipline team on public and private sector clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience with a growing North American engineering consulting firm. This is a temporary part-time position.  

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following:

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field
  • Strong interest in civil infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, surveying, or related disciplines
  • Prior experience in engineering, surveying, construction, or related field activities preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with engineering, CAD, GIS, surveying, or data-processing software is beneficial
  • Strong computer skills and experience using modern collaboration technologies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work safely in both office and field environments

Additional Information

Compensation: Compensation depends on experience. No benefits are offered except those that are required for statutory purposes.

Work Schedule: During the summer months; 40 hours/week.
