JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, this position, oversee the activity within the college’s Student Success Centers. Lead the efforts to ensure consistent customer service across all campuses, including guidance and training to staff and student workers. Partners with Recruitment & Admissions to cross train staff at the front desk and communication center. Manages and organizes all on campus group and individual tours, calendar organization, and act as liaison to all student success departments to ensure customer experience is positive and smooth.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all customer activity within the Student Success Center at IRSC campuses.
  • Manages front desk operations efficiently, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Discovers the needs of customers and empower and direct them accordingly.
  • Provides information to potential students regarding programs, entrance requirements, curriculum, and academic standards.
  • Evaluates and resolves customer inquiries, issues, and problems relating to the admissions process, and ensures that appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student/customer.
  • Manages, hires all work study students and staff at front desk.
  • Schedules campus tours and visits, train and assign tour guides.
  • Communicates with all customers (students, community members, campus visitors) to ensure customer service
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; two (2) years of related work experience with recruitment, enrollment, and/or retention initiatives in education including a broad range of educational opportunities; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Knowledge of higher education student programs and services, including admissions and registration procedures, and technology as it applies to College system such as IRSC’s Atrium system.
  • Knowledge of International Students, their issues, and special procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial aid and scholarships for students within the athletics and performing arts arena.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA eligibility requirements.
  • Skill in organizing, time management, and prioritizing.
  • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications.
  • Skill in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to provide accurate and sound academic and career advice.
  • Ability to be flexible, be creative in problem solving, use sound judgement, collaborate with others, work independently, be discrete, and be self-motivated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
