Position Summary:
The Material Handler Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient material flow throughout our Copeland El Paso Distribution Center. This position is responsible for receiving, transporting, storing, and staging materials to support shipping operations. They also assist with quality checks, inventory control, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all orders ship out daily according to the customer’s requests and specifications.
Provide outstanding Customer Service and Sales support. Collaborate with Customer Service for order updates, visibility, and make sure order requirements are met.
Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility by operating fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Provide training for department colleagues to include staging, labeling, quality checks, paperwork, shipping procedures.
Follow all Copeland El Paso safety procedures and own our All Hands On Safety culture.
Maintain 5S activities as part of daily work.
Communicate inventory discrepancies to appropriate team members.
Prepare International/Domestic shipments, including documentation, placards, labeling, and ensuring pallets are stable and balanced.
Run rate quotes for both domestic and international shipments. Set up shipments with freight forwarders.
Provide clear and timely updates to supervisors, sales, customer service, and other departments.
Ability to use structured problem-solving methodology to investigate errors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee will be exposed to moderate noise level. Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold. High forklift traffic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sit, walk, kneel, bend, carry up to 50 lbs. boxes. Lift boxes 50% of the time or more.
